Young Leaders’ Scheme

The Young Leaders’ Scheme is a training programme for Explorer Scout Young Leaders made up of modules and missions that you work through whilst volunteering in your chosen section (Beavers, Cubs or Scouts). The modules give you the skills and knowledge to be a successful Young Leader, and the missions will allow you to put this into practice with support.

As you progress through the scheme you can earn different awards which culminate in the Young Leader Belt on completion of the scheme. As well as developing valuable life skills such as communication, organisation and leadership, the Scheme is an opportunity for you to fulfil the service elements of many of the top awards in Scouting, and to make a positive impact in your local community.

Throughout your Young Leader journey you’ll be supported by the Leaders at the Section you are working in as well as our Explorer Scout Leader for Young Leaders, have local training and networking opportunities, and County led Young Leader events.
